Wind and Gold

Autumn came, with wind and gold. – Henry David Thoreau

Autumn, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love the crunch of crimson leaves under my feet. I love watching golden leaves dance on the wind as they float away from their trees. I love the autum sun, so mellow compared to the intensity of the summer one. I love how brisk winds turn my cheeks bright red while I’m walking on the beach. I love Halloween. I love the bright orange, smiling jack-o-lanterns lounging in random corners of my neighborhood. I love seeing business people, dressed in serious gray suits, walking through the financial district with zombie faces, devil horns and knives stuck in their head. I love that my birthday falls four days before Halloween so the end of October feels like one big celebration.

And, most of all, I love that mother nature is showing off, in all of her glory, just how stunning she is.

  1. Fabulous Photos Laurel. I’ve been sending on to my friend in NS who also has an interest in photography! She loves them.
