Soul Food

Last night I found a file of photos from a Joffre Lakes hike hidden away in a corner of my laptop. As I looked through the images, I remembered my first glimpse of the turquoise, glacier lake and the shock of such raw, natural beauty right in front of me. A beauty so intense that it seemed a little surreal.

Every hike that puts me in the middle of the majesty of nature also puts everything in perspective. What’s important and what’s not, what’s real and what’s not….

I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it…. People think pleasing God is all God care about.  But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back.  ~Alice Walker, The Color Purple, 1982

  1. What a blessing it is to witness and experience yourself surrounded by such incredible beauty. For some this is just a dream. For you, it is reality. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. YES! We are nurtured when we open up and stop and take in the beauty around us, even in small things and we are part of a cycle of energy flowing when we give back our appreciation into Life. Stupendous pictures! It is indeed magic… I feel like I’m there! Cheers! tomas ☼
