Sparkling Clean Fruit & Veggies

Today is the day! The juice fast has officially begun and I am fully stocked with fruit, veggies and pretty flowers too!

Organic fruit and veggies are always best to juice with but, sometimes, the cost of organic and our budgets just aren’t compatible. When this is the case, a large amount of the nasty pesticide residue coating conventional produce can be washed off with this pure, homemade rinse:

1 cup water

1 cup white vinegar

1 tbsp. baking soda

1/2 lemon

Mix in a large bowl to allow a little time for the chemical reaction between the vinegar and baking soda. Then pour into a spray bottle and, voila, your healthy rinse is ready to go!

Also keep in mind the dirty dozen when purchasing your fruit and veggies. They are the hardest hit by a variety of pesticides and fungicides used in conventional farming methods and should only be eaten in their organic form. Some of the produce on the list has been found with up to 60 different chemicals on them. Yikes!!
